Dependent clause

· Adverbial clause

An adverbial clause is a dependent clause that modifies a verb, adjective, or adverb. An adverbial clause contains a subject and a predicate, but may occasionally omit either of them.

· Attributive clause

An attributive clause adds more information about a noun and serves to modify that noun.

· Object clause

An object clause is a clause that follows a verb and becomes the object of the sentence. The structure is subject + verb + object clause.

· Elliptical clause

An elliptical clause is a dependent clause that leaves out a word, usually a verb or verb phrase.
